چکیده
Medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction has been shown to be a successful treatment for patients with recurrent patellar instability. The purpose of this study is compare radiographic parameters prior and following an MPFL femoral tunnel fixation in the skeletally immature patient investigate potential effects on physic future growth. Skeletally undergoing isolated were retrospectively reviewed. Fixation proximal was performed as socket using Schottle’s point entry approximately 5 mm distal physis. Patients open growth plates 1-year post-operative standing alignments included. Radiographic measures tilt, height, subluxation, trochlear dysplasia compared pre-operatively post-operatively operative limb. Pre- coronal alignment limb length measurements between non-operative limbs. Nineteen average age 11.6 years (range 5-15 old) underwent reconstruction. follow-up time 24 months. No significant differences found change femur (0.49 mm, p=0.526) or total (1.08 p=0.241) when comparing limb, 47 seen during period. There no difference LDFA well symmetric changes noted mechanical axis. tilt (12.78°, p=0.030), height by Caton-Deschamps approached significance (0.08mm, p= 0.077). measures. present suggests safe does not result disturbance patients.

Results: A total of 155 (79.5%) subjects had adequate postoperative lateral radiographs and complete BPII scores. The mean duration of follow-up (±SD) was 24.4 ± 8.2 months (range, 12-74 months). Measurement from the center of the femoral tunnel to the Schöttle point resulted in 143 (92.3%) tunnels being categorized as “good” or “ideal.” There were 8 failures in the cohort, none of which occurr...

The medial patellofemoral ligament has been recognized as the structure primarily responsible for preventing patellar subluxation or dislocation.1-3 Anatomic dissection studies identified the medial patellofemoral ligament as a band of tissue connecting the femoral medial epicondyle to the proximal part of the medial edge of the patella (Figure 1).1-6 Imaging studies7-11 and surgical exploratio...
متن کاملTroubleshooting the Femoral Attachment During Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction
The medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) has been recognized as an important soft tissue restraint in preventing lateral patellar translation. As many patients with acute or chronic patellar instability will have a deficient MPFL, reconstruction of this ligament is becoming more common. Appropriately, significant research has been undertaken regarding graft biomechanics and techniques, as intr...

BACKGROUND The present study aimed to describe a new safe and economical technique for medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction with satisfactory clinical outcomes, and present the results of a four-year follow-up. MATERIAL AND METHODS Thirty-two patients with recurrent patella dislocation, who underwent MPFL reconstruction with two semi-patellar tunnels and hardware-free patellar f...
